In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are showcasing an exceptional talent within our organization. Daniela Kennedy excels at enthusiastically working with others and learning from those around her. As a new paralegal at FMD, Daniela has quickly established herself as a valuable asset to the legal department due to her quality teamwork and communication skills.

Drawn to FMD by the opportunity to work in a corporate legal environment and to be a part of a company that works with the United States Navy, Daniela says the company's inclusive culture has contributed to her early success with the team. Her experiences working with the Legal and Compliance team have led to valuable relationship-building within the FMD corporate office, allowing her to use her skillsets and giving her insight into customers, programs, services, and more.

"A couple of months after starting, I was tasked with assisting another department to track down information involving a government program that was new to me," she said. "I used a variety of research skills to learn what was necessary to accomplish the task and assist others with navigating the program."

In addition to her legal background and strong team-building skills, Daniela has demonstrated a passion for diversity and inclusion in both her work and personal life. Born in Chile, Daniela is a proud Chilean American and continues to practice traditions of her family’s heritage, especially Chilean Independence Day, or "Dieciocho," on September 18th.

Daniela strongly advocates for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees and is active in the Hispanic community where she continues sharing the culture she grew up with others.

"FMD fosters a very welcoming and supportive environment, and when I first started, I instantly felt encouraged by my colleagues and managers. I'm grateful to work for a company that values diversity and inclusion."

Outside work, Daniela enjoys spending time with her family and bulldogs, traveling to new places, and cheering on her Washington, D.C., sports teams.
