FMD TECHNICAL SKILLS COURSE

The training program provides a balance of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice to ensure participants are well-equipped to handle diesel engine systems and electrical systems safely and effectively. This curriculum ensures trainees are prepared to meet FMD standards and industry expectations.

COURSE DETAILS

  • Engine fundamentals: 2- and 4-stroke operation, timing, air and fuel delivery, turbochargers, and blowers.
  • Engine components: cylinder heads, liners, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, valves, and nozzles—how they’re built, what they do, and maintenance.
  • Fuel systems: mechanical vs. EFI injection.
  • Precision tooling: micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, torque wrenches—plus bearing inspections, shaft runout, fastener tensioning, and valve lash.
